I've been coming here since I was 5, I've always enjoyed the selection of books and music they've had. Recently I checked out several CDs, this whole locking mechanism on the cases is ridiculous first of all. Secondly, I do not appreciate the locking mechanism locking itself after I closed the case. I do not want to have to go to the library so I can unlock a cd that I checked out. Fix this.
Besides amazing clerical staff, and really cool workers, the new library atmosphere is gorgeous. The materials are well maintained and everything is really nice. I love the new children's room. Come and see it!
The Fairport Public Library is a happy place to walk into. Patrons enjoying all the comfy areas, people studying for tests, researching for papers, looking for entertainment to take home and enjoy, having a quiet time to read the news paper, browsing through the wonderfully lit stacks, having meetings in the community room and learning about something new. The staff in all the areas is helpful when you need to find what you are looking for. I have family who live in countries the other side of the globe and they can not wait to get to the library when they arrive in Fairport in the summer. We love the Fairport Library.
Clean and inviting library for all ages. Large selection and up to date processes for daily business. Kids room is fun, and also there are areas to study or read quietly.
I've always been a library lover since I was a kid, and this is the best-run branch library I've ever had the pleasure of frequenting. Exceptional digital collection of DVDs, CDs, and books on CD. Jazz CD collection is extensive. And they pay attention to small touches, like segregating new CD and DVD releases and regularly updating them. Organization and staff assistance is excellent. As this writing they are hoping to get approval to rearrange their current space and create more reading areas, comfortable seating, and other amenities and facility expansions. Hopefully they will get approval, as they do a great job of optimizing the space they have today. Good ongoing used book sale, too. And an excellent annual sale during Canal Days.
